ROUND 10 OF SHIELD COMPETITION AT NUNAWADING ON SATURDAY WEEK

The tenth and final round of shield competition will be held at Nunawading, on Saturday, January 30.

This is the last round before the shield finals on February 6, so it is the last chance to qualify for events. Remember you cannot do an event in the finals that you have not competed in throughout the shield season (there is one exception to this; the 5000m in the round 10 will count to qualify athletes for the 3000m in the finals).

MILERS CLUB AT BOX HILL ON TUESDAY NIGHT

Please note that the Milers Club will be holding competition at Box Hill on Tuesday, January 19 from 7:00pm. The track will be closed to training shortly before this time.

SHIELD FINAL ON FEBRUARY 6?

With one round of shield competition remaining before the shield final, all Box Hill teams look set to finish in the top two and qualify for the final on February 6.

I have attached the draft timetable for the finals day. If anyone is unavailable to compete on February 6, please let us know as soon as possible.

Remember that in the finals you must compete in the correct uniform (the old grey singlets will not be allowed) with black shorts and your AV bib number attached to both the front and back of your uniform.

Remember to compete for your team in the final you must have competed in at least three rounds of shield competition and have competed at least once in that particular event.

CONGRATULATIONS DION

Congratulations to Dion Finocchiaro, who won the 56km Two Bays trail run on Sunday! This run from Dromana, over Arthur’s seat to Cape Schanck and return is one of the most popular ultramarathon events in Australia. Dion not only won, but ran a course record of 4 hours, 6 minutes and 36 seconds.
