It was a night where the team looked like they were heading for a comfortable victory until the final few events, where the lack of throwers was evident as Bayside challenged strongly. With several athletes unavailable due to study or injury, it was left to a limited number of athletes to produce the win.
Notable performances were Wendy Muldoon easily winning the 5 kilometre walk, Kerri Jorgensen, Anna Thomson and Elysa Eddy going 1,2,3 in the 1500, the 4 by 100 relay team, and Sally Ogilvy holding on for a win in the 400metres.

Bye
After a slow start to the night, the team scored an impressive win largely on the back of some great efforts by the sprinters. Box Hill dominated our heats of the 100 taking maximum points. Particularly impressive were the performances of 16 year olds Lane Harrison and Mohammed Zeed in their first State League runs, who backed up their individual performances by taking the team to a win in the relay with James Fildes and Justin Clarke. Justin completed a hat trick of wins for the night by taking out the 400 despite "walking" the last 50 metres. Stephen Hooker again performed well, winning two events and the distance runners were dominant with a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the 1500, and a 1,2 finish in the Steeplechase.
With the team now sitting equal 1st on the ladder, we must now prepare for the challenges of some of the more highly ranked teams, and the return of Homelo Vi to the throws will go a long way to bolstering the team.
