MALE RESULTS

The Box Hill men's team started the season slowly, just scraping into second position in the first round of State League competition earlier tonight. With lots of holes in the team due to injuries and unavailability for a number of reasons, the athletes who turned up performed well to score 125 points and finish 11 points behind Melbourne University. We were comfortably ahead of Geelong with 113 and Ivanhoe with 86.

Highlights for the night included wins by Rod Bird in the hammer and John Stoeckel in the long jump (without damaging his hamstring).
