Chris Hamer and Alice Baquie headed a strong Box Hill performance at the inaugural Run for the Kids 14.7km run through the city, via the Bolte Bridge and Domain Tunnel on Sunday 2nd April 2006.
With 20,000 participants, this is the largest run ever held in Victoria and 17 year old Chris Hamer ran brilliantly to finish 8th, while Alice Baquie did one better to be the 7th woman across the line.
Behind Chris and Alice there were a number of strong performances from Box Hill athletes.
