XCR’15 ROUND 3 AT BALLARAT ON MAY 30 – Enter now!
The next round of the XCR’15 season will be held around Lake Wendouree, in Ballarat, on Saturday, May 30. If you have not already purchased an XCR’15 series ticket, you must enter via the AV website. The men’s and women’s open race will be over 15km and the junior race is 5km.
LARDNER PARK TEAMS RESULTS
Box Hill had some great team results in round to of XCR’15 at Lardner Park on May 9. As noted last week, Box Hill’s men’s premier division team of Steve Kelly, Will Potter, Daniel Clark, Nick Baggott, James O’Connell and Oscar Robinson had a great victory. We also won the men’s 50+ division (John Meagher, Peter Stefanos, Chris O’Connor) and the women’s 40+ team of Julie Norney, June Petrie and Talitha Crawford, also took out first place.
Box Hill took out 2nd place in the men’s division 2 (John Meagher, Michael Dowel, Welday Mebrahtu, Michael Vaught, Simon Watson, David Jiminez) and our women’s premier division team of Grace Brown, Julie Norney, Sarah Cant, Grace Kalac and June Petrie finished 5th
GREAT OCEAN ROAD MARATHON
Box Hill athletes had some great performances at the Great Ocean Road marathon festival on the weekend. Steve Dinneen won the “half marathon”, running the 23km in 73:30 while Klarie McIntyre finished 13th in 82:49. Bec Rosel finished 3rd in the 14km event (50:47), while Vaughan Smith and Raymond Chan finished 2nd and 3rd in the 6km race (in times of 20:26 and 20:43 respectively).
WHITEHORSE POLE VAULT CLUB MOVIE NIGHT
Phillipa Hajdasz has been selected to represent Australia and compete at the IAAF World Youth Championships in Cali, Columbia this July for Pole Vault.
However it does come at a cost with travel, food and accommodation etc.
To help raise funds there will be a Movie Night on Sunday, May 31 at the Palace Balwyn Cinema, 231 Whitehorse Rd Balwyn.
A light supper will be provided at 5.30pm up-stairs at the cinema, the movie will start after that at approximately 6.30pm.

Tickets are $20 and can be collected from any of the pole vaulters or you can transfer the money to the following NAB account with your name as the transfer description and number of tickets you are paying for.

XCR’15 SEASON
The XCR’15 season is underway. We are hoping to have a record number of athletes competing for Box Hill this winter season.
With 56 athletes and a high number of juniors competing in round 1 at Jells Park, this season is looking promising (despite a number of our open men being unavailable for the first event)
