During interclub competition at Box Hill on Saturday 18 October 2003, a presentation was made to Box Hill Athletic Club member and World Youth Discus Champion, Ronnie Buckley, in recognition of his wonderful performance at Sherbrooke, Canada in July.
Club President, Graeme Olden presented Ronnie with a 1.5 kg discus engraved to record his performance in recognition of Ronnie becoming the first Box Hill member to win a World Championship.
15 year old Hayley Tomlinson was also recognised for her outstanding achievement in running a PB in her heat to make the final of the 1500 m at the World Youth Championship, where she finished in 11th place.
