The Box Hill Athletics track will be closed for resurfacing from Monday November 13. It is expected the resurfacing will take about three months.
Box Hill Athletic Club is holding a comedy fundraising evening on Friday, 20 October. Doors open at 7pm for pizza and drinks, and the show starts at 8pm. Tickets are available online – bring friends and family to support the club!
Tom Sellwood and Will Potter raced superbly in the Australian Cross Country Championships on August 26, leading a successful Box Hill contingent.
Congratulations to Box Hill’s Nicola Hogg, who won a silver medal in the Australian All Schools Cross Country Championships in Hobart on August 12.
Box Hill’s Premier Division men’s team once again claimed victory in Ballarat on 29 July. Fighting windy conditions over the 15km course, and with several regular runners missing, Box Hill had six men in the top 42 finishers.
Cold and windy conditions didn’t stop Box Hill’s men claiming several divisions at in the 10km Albert Park Road Race on 16 July.
Box Hill performed well overall in the annual Sandown Road Relays on 8 July, with 13 teams taking part . Four teams won their division, one came 2nd, four came 3rd, two 4th, one 6th and one 7th.
Box Hill’s Georgia Griffith is the first Australian female athlete to achieve IAAF World Championship qualifying standards for both the 800m and 1500m. Competing in the Portland Track Festival in Oregon, USA, Georgia ran a brilliant personal best of 2:00.9 to qualify for the World Championships in London later this year and next year’s Commonwealth Games on the […]
